Potato has started to really enjoy mark-making and colours. So for this week’s messy play, we let lose with the paints in the tough spot.
It was really simple. I taped a few sheets of paper to the tough spot and squeezed some blobs of paint into the paper. I didn’t bother with brushes and just let him have fun getting messy.
I got some lovely foot prints and handprints.
My favourite sheet is this one, which is both mine and Potato’s handprints together.
As I changed the sheets, I let Potato choose the colours he wanted and squeeze out the paint himself.
For a bit of variety, I found some of the stones Potato loves to play with. We experimented with painting both on them and with them and Potato really enjoyed seeing the effect of tipping them onto the paper.
In the main, I just let Potato do what he wanted and make a wonderful mess. By the end, there was just as much paint on him as on the paper.
But I was pleased that there were several sheets that looked really good and I’ve kept them to put up on the wall.
As the pages hung on the line to dry, we cleaned up in the best possible way. Baby soup anyone?
I’m linking up with Edspire’s Messy Play for Matilda Mae linky this week. Pop on over to see what other mess people have been making this week.
